A good teaching staff is the key to determining the teaching level of MPA education. Our school since the MPA qualification, fully integrate resources, established the school of public administration and political science and law as the main body, supplemented by business school, education, history and culture, and by hiring domestic and foreign scholars and government administrative experts as adjunct professor, established a professional a solid theoretical foundation, practical experience, familiar with student characteristics, master the law of education teaching teachers.
(1) Teacher structure
The structure of MPA teachers in our school is reasonable. There are 52 MPA teachers, including 32 full-time teachers and 20 part-time teachers. Full-time teachers graduated from Peking University, Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, Zhejiang University and other well-known universities in China with high professional title and academic level, among which 75% have doctoral degree, 40.6% have associate professor title and 43.8% have professor title. At the same time, 17 experts in the actual government management departments were hired as visiting professors or thesis tutors, accounting for 32.7% of the total number of MPA teachers.
(2) Teacher allocation and teaching experience
Reasonable teaching staff is the key to determine the teaching effect of MPA curriculum. In the teaching process of MPA, Hubei University has always put the improvement of teaching quality in a prominent position. The teachers will have teaching experience, scientific research achievements, rich practical experience, and highly educated teachers as the core course teachers to ensure the education and teaching effect.
One is the implementation of the curriculum main and auxiliary tutor system. Generally speaking, the core course of the MPA professional degree has a professor as the course leader, leading an associate professor or doctor as the course lecturer. The course leader is specifically responsible for the course design, case discussion, social investigation and other teaching links.
Second, pay attention to the relative stability of teachers. In terms of curriculum teachers, teachers with similar subject background and research interests and achievements are generally grouped in groups, and long-term course tracking, research and teaching implementation are implemented under the leadership of the core course leader, so as to constantly improve the teaching level of professional courses. In the past three years, the number of teachers with more than two core course teaching experience has accounted for 93% of the total number of teachers.
Third, actively organize MPA teaching and research activities, actively organize MPA teachers around the MPA training program, curriculum system and teaching syllabus, and exchange experience and experience based on the problems and experiences existing in teaching. In the past three years, the MPA Center has organized 7 sub-course teaching and research activities, which have effectively improved the teaching level of teachers through teaching and discussion.
